Did I mention I hate snow?

Reactions:
Did I? I think so. It has been raining and snowing since yesterday but I was still able to do some mapping. Tonight the snowline dropped far below 400 m combined with continued rain and snow since yesterday. Great! Forecasts predicted up to 46 liters of precipitation in the form of rain and snow within 24 hours. I hate snow! Maybe saturday will be better but imagine how everything will have turned into mud by then. My work trousers already changed their color from green to mud brown, the car is also speckled with mud from the forest tracks.

Today's view from my room.

Ja, so langsam nervt der Winter. Vielleicht sollten wir ihn einfach ausschliessen?

I don't get it why people should love winter anyways. It's cold, damn cold somtimes, or sometimes even f***g cold. And wet and nasty. Gnarf, you are sooo right...

*Humor on*

We should start a Pro-Global-Warming movement!

*Humor off*

Alternatively once I got my degree I will only accept projects in the tropical and subtropical realms! :D

@Lost Geologist: You're not really lucky with your mapping weather, are you? ;-) Hopefully, those 48 litres are spread out over a large area (which doesn't include you).

I recently had to work in the field, but surprinsingly, exactly on those days, the sun came out and the rain stopped...

@jolo: I used to like winter very much, but after I quite some years now here in NE Germany, I could understand you. I'd like to again enjoy a decent winter with bright sunny days and real snow that stays for long time without instantly transforming to dirty sludge and mud. I'd like to be back in the alps!

Reminds me of what a professor (structural geologist, what else :)) said on this topic: "I would clearly prefer a little warmer and dryer climate over the next glacier covering the Alps."
